Starting with a slip Knot on your left hand needle, insert the right needle into the stitch from below. Taking the yarn in your right hand loop it around the right needle from back to front. Catch this loop and pull it through the first stitch. Place this new stitch on the left hand needle and pull the yarn to tighten. Continue this until you reach the desired amount of stitches.
Cable Cast On
Remember that Cable Cast On begins the same as Knit On Cast On. You have a slip knot on your left hand needle and you insert the right needle into it from below and loop the yarn around the right needle to form a new stitch. To make the next stitch insert the needle between the last two stitches and loop yarn around right needle to make a stitch in the same way. Continue until you reach the desired amount of stitches.
